The Brief
Sometimes the simplest production upgrade delivers the biggest transformation. Uplighting is often overlooked, but it makes a huge difference. It shapes the ambience and sets the first impression the moment guests step into a space.
The brief was to enhance an event space quickly, cleanly, and without disruption — creating atmosphere from the moment guests arrived.
The lighting needed to work across both indoor and outdoor environments. It also needed to integrate seamlessly with the venue, without visible cabling or technical clutter. Most importantly, the result had to feel intentional. Not “added on”, but designed in.
Our Approach
MaxMarcus supplied wireless LED uplighters to reshape the space through subtle, design-led lighting.
Because the units are battery powered, setup stayed clean and discreet. No trailing cables. No trip hazards. Just uplighters placed exactly where they make the most impact — washing walls, columns, draping and architectural features to change the feel of the room within minutes. They can also be linked wirelessly, so the entire space can shift colour instantly at the push of a button.
Colour was selected to suit the tone of the event. In some spaces, warmer tones added softness and depth. In others, cooler hues created a sharper, more contemporary look. We also matched lighting levels carefully across the room, creating an even finish that felt polished in person and consistent on camera.
For outdoor areas, uplighters helped define entrances, terraces, courtyards and key guest zones. They provided structure in darker spaces and improved visibility without over-lighting the surroundings. When needed, the lighting was positioned to subtly guide guest movement and highlight focal points such as signage, feature walls or arrival areas.
Delivery
The install was designed to be fast and minimal. Uplighters were positioned, tested, and ready well before guests arrived. Once the event was live, the lighting ran smoothly in the background with no need for constant adjustment.
It’s a simple setup, but it delivers a high-end result.
The Result
Wireless uplighters delivered immediate impact. The space felt more atmospheric, more considered, and noticeably elevated — without changing the layout or introducing heavy production.
