Audience watching a live panel talk in an industrial venue

DJ Education Expo Event Production in London

The weDJ show brought together DJs, selectors and music lovers for a two-day DJ education expo in London, hosted at 26 Leake Street. Free to attend and open to all levels, it was built around learning, progression and community — with first-timers sharing the space with seasoned professionals across the weekend.

It was part workshop, part competition, part culture. And it needed production that could keep up.

The Brief

The brief was to deliver a flexible, professional production environment capable of running multiple formats across the venue at the same time.

Sound needed to stay consistent throughout the space, while each area supported a different purpose — education sessions, live demonstrations, battles and open decks — without interrupting the rhythm of the event. Clear communication and smooth transitions were essential.

Our Approach

MaxMarcus delivered full live event production across the Leake Street site.

In collaboration with RCF, we supplied and installed PA for the entire event, ensuring clean, consistent sound across every zone. We also provided lighting throughout the space to support the energy of the show while maintaining a considered, industrial aesthetic.

For the main stage panel talks, Q&As and education zones, we installed multiple TV screens for visibility and clear content delivery. Wireless microphones ensured speakers and presenters could move naturally, and the system supported recording to capture key moments across the weekend.

In addition, staging, tables and draping helped define key areas within the venue, creating structure without losing the raw, underground character of the space. The setup remained adaptable throughout, allowing the programme to evolve seamlessly.

Delivery & Atmosphere

Saturday’s Scratch Jam and Secret Soundclash set the tone from the outset — high energy, strong community presence, and a room that stayed engaged from start to finish.

Sunday’s Controller Cuts Battle brought a sharper competitive edge, with crowd focus building as each round progressed. Open decks sessions followed across the day, giving DJs of all levels the opportunity to play in a professional environment and be part of the wider culture of the weekend.

The Result

The weDJ show delivered a high-impact DJ education expo that balanced learning with live performance, without losing momentum.

Attendees praised the atmosphere, organisation and accessibility, with many highlighting the value of experiencing professional-grade AV, staging and sound in an open, supportive setting. For MaxMarcus, the project demonstrated how multi-zone production can elevate education-led events — especially in non-traditional spaces where flexibility matters most.
