Corporate Event Production & AV
In December 2025, MaxMarcus delivered full audio-visual and event production support for the Sporting Club Sports Awards Gala 2025, held at The Royal Lancaster London. The gala is a flagship date in The Sporting Club calendar. It brings together members, guests and leading figures from the world of sport for an evening of celebration, hospitality and live entertainment.
The event combined a drinks reception, three-course dinner and a live awards programme, with high-profile presenters and guests throughout. The brief called for technical precision, delivered with restraint. It also needed to preserve the refined atmosphere expected of a black-tie awards night.
The Brief
The Sporting Club required a seamless live event environment to support speeches, awards presentations and entertainment. The production also needed space for standout moments that would lift the night beyond a traditional ceremony.
This included clear, reliable audio for presenters and award winners. It also required high-definition visual displays for live camera feeds and graphics. Lighting needed to enhance the room without dominating it. In addition, the programme called for one defining live moment that would resonate with the audience and celebrate sporting history.
Our Approach
MaxMarcus delivered a tailored corporate AV and production solution built around the venue and the running order.
Professional PA systems and wireless microphones ensured consistent, intelligible sound throughout the ballroom. Strategically positioned screens gave every guest a clear view, displaying live footage, award graphics and bespoke content as the evening unfolded. Lighting stayed elegant and understated, supporting stage moments while complementing the Royal Lancaster’s interior.
A defining feature of the night was the recreation of the iconic 1985 World Snooker Championship black-ball finish. We supplied and installed a full snooker table on stage, allowing Steve Davis and Dennis Taylor to recreate the final moments live for the room. It required careful coordination, staging and timing. The moment needed to feel theatrical, while remaining smooth and safe within the ballroom environment.
The Result
The gala delivered a polished experience that balanced prestige with live entertainment.
Guests responded warmly to the production quality and the snooker moment, which became a clear highlight of the evening. Audio and visuals performed flawlessly throughout. Presenters, award winners and performers stayed fully focused on the room.
